Build the sentinel-separated vertex stream. Consecutive exact duplicates are dropped (a zero-length segment has no direction, which would break the joins on either side), runs of gaps collapse to one sentinel, and with connectGaps non-finite points are skipped entirely.
The stream is counted first and arrays are sized exactly (E16.9: sizing for the worst case of a gap after every point, rounded to a power of two, over-allocated 2.6× on dense series). reuse lets callers recycle arrays of sufficient capacity (partial GPU uploads, plan E16.3).
