type LayoutUpdate<L> = { readonly [K in keyof L]?: L[K] | null } & AttributeUpdate;

Layout edits for relayout: attribute paths ('xaxis.range[0]', untyped) and whole layout attributes, typed like the layout ({ title: { text: 'Sales' } }). null resets an attribute to its default.
